OUR STORY
A note from the owners
For the last few years my future husband and I had searched for a property to buy in Mallorca, which we could one day call our home. As time went by, I felt the landscape, lifestyle, and people of Mallorca get under my skin.
My husband had previously travelled to the island to visit his cousin and had been struck by how much Mallorca had to offer. From its mild weather (both of us being Australian, sunshine meant a lot, especially when living in Britain), its natural attractions, the thriving city of Palma, its convenience to England and Europe, and the opportunity to create a new way of life.
We looked at a wide range of properties, from modern apartment complexes near Palma, to renovator delights that were off grid and illegal, to estates still needing years of work. It was fun, exhausting and at times despairing.
In late 2021, we visited Finca Santa Lucia. We heard the house was for sale and incredibly had its own chapel, which was fabulous as we were looking for a venue for our upcoming wedding. We arrived and were stunned by the immaculate landscaped park-like garden, with views to the Tramuntana mountains. Majestic palms and an abundance of pink, purple and red Bougainvillea, surrounded the swimming pool and intimate chapel.
We looked at each other and said “dream home”.
As we looked around the estate, at the traditional horse stables, the tennis court (one of my husband’s passions), orchard, and met the farm’s flock including two grey geese Pedro y Pablo, and a magnificent Peacock, Harold, we felt spirited and light and knew it was perfect home for us.
The house itself was in good condition, which made the decision even easier. Since our purchase we have had many adventures getting to know the Mallorcan way of life, always with the intent to further improve the house and gardens and to have fun along the way.
We are happy to share Finca Santa Lucia and our love for Mallorca with you. It is an idyllic holiday rental and the perfect wedding venue. We hope you consider renting Finca Santa Lucia.
Its a place to call home.
